SMTP Auth Setup for Netscape 4.73 - 4.78

  1. Start Netscape. Select the Edit menu item, then Preferences.

    Expand the Mail & Newsgroups tree and select Mail Servers.

  2. In the box labelled Outgoing Mail (SMTP) server, append ":587" to the end of the mail server name in the box (without quotes). So if the box contains "la.znet.com", add the ":587" so that it reads "la.znet.com:587"

  3. In Outgoing mail server user name, enter your user name.

  4. Press OK and you are done.
