The easiest way to stop "popups" is to use a web browser which will let you stop them from "popping up". For example if you use the free Mozilla web browser, you can disable pop-up windows by just clicking on the "Edit" menu, click "Preferences", go to "Advanced" in the Category list, and make sure "Allow Webpages to open unrequested windows" is unchecked. Voila! Websites will no longer be able to popup any new windows on your screen.
However if you need to use a browser which doesn't give you that control, such as Internet Explorer, there are many freeware and shareware "Pop Up stopper" programs you can install on your computer to keep rogue websites from flooding your computer screen with pop-up ads.
